SC seeks report on steps to curb hate speech

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the home affairs secretary to collate information pertaining to preventive, corrective and remedial measures taken by state governments so far to check hate speech in compliance with its previous judgments.
The said compilation must be placed before the court within six weeks.
The directions were passed on a clutch of petitions seeking to curb/prevent hate speech.
